Why Churches Can Meet On Any Day Of The Week

After Jesus resurrected, the church met on Sunday which is the first day of the week
(see Act 20:7 & l Cor 1-2). Also, Jesus mentions to keep the 10 commandments except He leaves out the Sabbath which is the 7th day, Saturday (Mat 18:17-19) although He kept it to fulfill the law. Col 2:16-17 actually says not to let people judge you concerning the Sabbaths since it was just a shadow of what was to come. You can keep this day or that day to meet for church and it is still wise to have at least one day to rest from work. Some people say not to meet on Sunday but every day is a day the Lord has made.  The Sabbath was strictly for the Old Testament and Jesus phased that commandment out since it is just a shadow of the real rest to come which is heaven where man rests from his labors (Rev 14:13).

Iran Persecuting Christians

Iran as a government has officially been promoting the apocrypha book "The Gospel of Barnabas" which is not a part of the Bible and was written after it was completed. That so called lost gospel has a passage that says "Allah" is the true god and is hailed as a book that destroys Christianity. Iran is also confiscating Bibles and persecuting those who are Christians. The truth is this:

This is an acceleration of the world persecution predicted in the Bible. It does not help that we have a pro Muslim in President Obama who is himself attacking the churches here to conform them to his paganism, forced homosexuality in marriage, adding it to the military and forced abortion on churches. The Barnabas Gospel is a fraud written after the N.T. was completed. Allah was the name of a pagan god, a Moon god, which was one of many gods the people in that area worshiped. An idol of Allah, among others,  was taken out of the Kaba (holy shrine in Mecca) by Mohamed when he went there. How can the name of a pagan god, Allah, be the one true god? It can't. That is where the crescent moon falls in place to Muslims although many of them don't even know it since they are not taught it by their spiritual leaders. Older encyclopedias can tell you this. Christians should pray that God removes President Obama from office and that a better person takes his place.

The psalmist prophesied in the second psalm that God had a Son as did the prophet Isaiah in his 9th chapter. Jesus is that "Son: who came and died and was resurrected to come again to judge the world and nations for their sins. Jesus confirmed to the the Jewish high priest, Caiaphas, when questioned if he was the Son of God by answering "it is as you say" (Gospel of Matthew chapter 26 verses 63- 64). The Gospel of John includes the theme that Jesus is the Son of God. One of the most notable instances is in the 9th chapter where after Jesus healed a blind man He confirmed to him that He was the Son of God!

Regarding Matthew chapter 24, verses 1-4:
The first thing Jesus told his disciples to be aware of, concerning events to come before his return, was to beware that no one deceive them. Some people will actually say they are Jesus and try to mislead people. There are also the more common deceptions of people who profess to be Christians or church leaders that teach doctrines that are not found in the Bible and distort the scriptures and the nature of Jesus and God.

The scripture says that many will be decieved.  You can only be decieved if you put other beliefs first before the scriptures of the Bible. Supernatural events or experiences must not be placed as more important than the word of God. We walk by faith not by sight. The more familiar you are with the Bible, the harder it will be to be decieved. It is often said that the more familiar one is with a real dollar bill the easier it is to spot a counterfit one.

The Events That Will Happen Before Jesus Returns

Jesus came to Earth to live as a man to die for the sins of all mankind to provide forgiveness and a way to heaven to be with the Heavenly Father. After Jesus was resurrected from the dead he reappeared to his disciples and told them that He would come back again.

Jesus had told his disciples that certain events would happen before He came back. The 24th chapter of the book of Matthew tells of some main things that would happen as the time for Jesus to return comes closer. There are other scriptures that also reveal more on this subject. The next few postings will cover some of these events to come. They are very important because besides preparing followers of Jesus to know what events will lead to His return, they also prove that Jesus as the Son of God, knows the future.

Christmas Is Near

Christians celebrate December 25th as the birthday of Jesus. Although it is not known exactly which day Jesus was born, the December date has been traditionally chosen for centuries. The biblical story tells us that angels appeared to shepherds in the fields announcing the birth of Jesus. Also, Magi, wise men of the East, came to visit the baby Jesus by following a star. They came bearing gifts to the one they called the "King of the Jews" after the baby Jesus was born in Bethlehem. "Merry Christmas" is the saying for this time of the year.

Prayer Is One Of The Most Important Things To Do

As people, there are limitations as to what we can do for ourselves or for others. With God's help we can see things done which would not otherwise happen. The Bible encourages us to pray to our heavenly Father always. If we need help looking for: work, for finances, for medical care, for the salvation of others or whatever else then pray to God for those things. Jesus told us that our heavenly Father already knows what we need (not always what we want) so we can ask him for those needs. But God is not some magic Genie to grant our every wish. We also need to pray for other people and not just our own concerns. Believe in faith that God can answer your prayers and you will see many of them answered. The Bible calls prayer a spiritual weapon and so it is not just a common thing even though it can be be done often. If you have a spiritual weapon then that also means that there are enemies to fight and so we will hear some more on this later.

Religion Verses God

The difference between religion and Christianity is how they came to be. Religion is basically man's view about how to reach God while Christianity is God's revelation about Himself reaching out to man. In the beginning from the time of God's creation of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, God revealed himself to man. From that time forward for several generations, people knew about Him from some of those people who talked about Him and from some personal encounters with Him as well. By the time of the world flood in Noah's time, many people had decided not to follow God and followed their own ideas or certain religions that had been established. The Bible tells us that at that time the world was filled with man's wickedness and violence. From a beginning of holiness and peace there was now chaos. Today it is the same, wherever God is not truly worshiped, there is violence and war and no real peace. More wars have been begun and fought in this last century then at any time in the past around the world. When Jesus returns, He said it would be like the days of Noah, which means violence and no real peace because most people will not be following God although they could still be religious.
